The Design: This kit featured five classic red stripes on a white background, with each red stripe bordered by thinner red pinstripes. A major departure from tradition was the back of the shirt, which was entirely solid red—a first in the club's history. It also featured blue stripes down the flanks and a modern V-neck collar.

The Heritage: The jersey was designed specifically to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the club's historic 1995/96 "El Doblete" season, where they won both La Liga and the Copa del Rey. Current manager Diego Simeone was the heartbeat of that 1995/96 midfield, making this a deeply symbolic kit. A small tag inside the collar featured the Spanish flag with the dates "1995/96" and "2015/16."
